Mayday is a song about what it feels like for many people suffering from depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses. There’s a variety of treatments, support systems and other resources out there that anyone struggling should look into until they find the one that works for them. But sometimes, it’s just really important to hear that what you’re feeling is real, that others are experiencing it as well, and that someone out there understands. That you’re not alone. That’s the place this tune came from.
lyrics
Sail…on
seas that never change
Strange how
miles and miles all the while the waves stay
like a painting on the wall
we made but we’re scared to change at all
I will never change
I will rearrange
what it means to be
living happily
I am not the one
I don’t have a gun
I don’t have a name
can only exclaim
Mayday, mayday
I’m not okay
Come save my life
Sale…on
everything I own
strange how
expressionless my phone sits not one
responder talk me down
But when I hit the streets I’ll be the talk of the town
I will never change
I will rearrange
what it means to be
living happily
It’s too late to run
what is done is done
I did send a flair
But you waited years
Don’t let me down
Don’t let me drown
Don’t let me down
